Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed after the Exeter City victory that Aaron Morley has been recalled from his parent club Bolton Wanderers.
Much to the disappointment of the Chairboys, Bolton Wanderers triggered the clause in the loan agreement and Morley will now be in contention to face Exeter City on Saturday. There has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Morley at Bolton and Trotters boss Ian Evatt made his stance clear after Bolton played Wycombe. Evatt explained: “If they [Wycombe] want to keep him, they need to make us a really significant offer. From our perspective, he just won’t stay there on loan. We will recall him, and he will be part of our team and our squad unless they offer us an offer we think meets his valuation. I have told them our valuation, and now it is down to them to either meet it or not.”
Marc Iles from the Bolton News has since reported that Wycombe have had a substantial bid declined. It was reported that the Chairboys looked at extending Morley’s loan until the end of the season with an additional £100,000 fee but it appears that Bolton are looking for a permanent transfer fee.
Matt Bloomfield also expressed his feelings on the situation and hopes the club can bring Aaron Morley back to Wycombe. Bloomfield explained: “The club knows my feelings on it, but at this time, I don’t know. I know we have made another effort to retain him [which was rejected], and if there is a way of keeping him, then I’m sure we’ll explore it.”
Aaron Morley played an integral part from the Chairboys playing a total of 23 times and scoring twice.
