Wycombe Wanderers are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by goalkeeper Jamal Blackman in the scoreless draw with Blackpool at the weekend at Adams Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Blackman was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘It was a busy afternoon for Blackman, who pulled off a superb penalty save to help Wycombe earn a point at home to Blackpool. However, that wasn’t even his best stop of the day – he somehow clawed a close-range Brad Potts effort away during a Man of the Match performance.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Blackman for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

Jamal Blackman (Wycombe Wanderers), Luke Wilkinson (Stevenage), Aden Flint (Bristol City), John Brayford (Burton Albion), Filipe Morais (Bolton Wanderers), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Josh Wright (Gillingham), Kal Naismith (Portsmouth), Medy Elito (Cambridge United), JJ Hooper (Port Vale), Tom Barkhuizen (Preston North End).

Manager – Mike Flynn (Newport County).
