Wycombe Wanderers have been handed a home tie against Bristol City in the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Wanderers earned their place in today’s draw with at 2-0 win at Exeter City on Tuesday, courtesy of goals from Matt McClure and Anthony Stewart.

In last season’s competition, the Blues received a bye in the opening round and won 3-1 at Portsmouth in the second-round before losing 2-0 at Yeovil in the area quarter-final.

Bristol City reached the second round with a 2-1 win over neighbours Bristol Rovers on Wednesday evening.

The Robins are currently 20th in League One with 3 points from their opening 5 games. Last season they were relegated from the Championship in 24th place with 41 points.

As a Championship side, City didn’t take part in last season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The match will be played week-commencing 7th October 2013.
