It has been announced in the last hour that Caleb Taylor has been recalled by his parent club, West Brom.

This brings his spell with Wycombe to an end after joining in August of 2024, the 21-year-old centreback made 20 appearances in the light-dark blue quarters, helping Wycombe start an impressive season so far with them currently sitting at the summit of the League One table. His performances apparently catching the eye of his parent club, with the Championship side activating a recall clause in his loan deal.

West Brom are currently sixth in the Championship, in a tight race for promotion, level on points with Blackburn who are seventh.

Caleb has helped Wycombe climb to first in the league, winning 15 out of 20 games in which he appeared and keeping seven clean sheets, also scoring one goal in that time.

Commenting on Taylors’ departure, manager Matt Bloomfield said it’s “disappointing” that they’ve had to say goodbye, but is thankful for his time at Wycombe. He has also thanked West Brom for “Trusting us [Wycombe] with his development.”
Finally, Bloomfield spoke on the player himself, saying that Taylor has been a “fantastic” for the Wanderers, complimenting his work ethic during his time in Buckinghamshire.

Meanwhile, Caleb has said that he has “loved every single minute” of his time wearing a Wycombe shirt, feeling that the loan spell has been an overall success.
