Wycombe Wanderers travel to Solihull Moors on Sunday in the first round of the FA Cup.

The Chairboys lost 1-0 at Swindon Town in midweek, having drawn 3-3 at home to Cheltenham Town at the weekend.

At the County ground on Tuesday, the only goal of the game was another free header from a set piece as Wanderers’ defensive woes continued.

Following a run of 4 consecutive victories, Gareth Ainsworth’s side have now failed to win any of their last 5 games in all competitions.

With 33 goals conceded and only 3 clean sheets in 19 outings, The Chairboys’ respectable 7th place in League Two is largely down to their attacking prowess.

Wanderers’ fans have already purchased over 800 tickets to Sunday’s tie at Damson Park where they hope to witness a win against a Solihull side currently rock bottom of the National League Premier division.

Moors lost 4-0 at home to Fylde in their last outing, and manager Richard Money resigned just three days later.

Assistant manager Gary Whild is in charge on Sunday.

Solihull have won just one home game this season, a 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers Chester at the beginning of September.

Their top scorer is former Chelsea youngster Dapo Afolayan who is reportedly being chased by a host of Championship sides after bagging 9 goals so far this season.

Afolayan can leave for nothing as he has a seven-day release clause in his contract allowing him to go if he gets a suitable offer from another club. Derby, Barnsley and Burton in the Championship and League One clubs Wigan and Fleetwood are apparently on the case.

Another player to watch is former Premier League midfielder Darren Carter who pulls the strings for Moors and also has 5 goals to his name.

Wanderers will hope to have Dan Scarr back from injury, but the status of Sido Jombati and key defender Anthony Stewart is unclear.

Rumour has it that QPR and Charlton have not given permission for loanees Eberechi Eze and Josh Umerah to be cup-tied.

Michael Harriman and Nathan Tyson aren’t expected to return before Christmas, while there’s no fresh news on long-term absentee Scott Kashket.
