Wycombe Wanderers striker Matt Harrold scored his tenth goal of the season on Saturday and is determined to bag a few more as the Chairboys’ fight for survival enters the home straight.

Six of Harrold’s goals have come from the penalty spot and he told Chairboys’ Player: “It’s nice to get double figures. I’m pleased with the old penalties this season, there’s a bit of pressure sticking them away but I’m always confident and I’ll hopefully go on a little run now, get a few goals and help the team.”

Talking about the disappointment of not winning at Oldham on Saturday, Harrold said: “We came out in the second half after a bit of a telling off to be honest, and we’ve done well, and to not get three points is really gutting.”

Harrold also described the Wycombe support on Saturday as “Superb” and said “It’s important for us in this situation that the fans stay with us.”

Looking ahead to this weekend’s crucial game against fellow strugglers Exeter City, Harrold said: “We need to pick ourselves up and go into the game with a bit of momentum from our second half performance on Saturday.”
