Wycombe Wanderers’ central defender Leon Johnson has signed a new two-year contract which ties him to the club until 2013.

Johnson was originally offered a one-year deal, but his strong performances when recalled to the side at the end of last season have secured him a longer term.

The defender told wwfc.com: “I’m happy to commit myself for another two years and hopefully I can help the club move forward.”

Blues’ boss Gary Waddock said: “I’m really pleased that he’s committed himself to the club. He showed his qualities last season with a number of strong performances which helped us to achieve promotion.”

Johnson has also been called up to represent Grenada in this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup in the USA.
