Wycombe have announced that Matt Butcher has joined Bristol Rovers on loan until the end of the season.
Butcher signed for Wycombe in January of 2024, following his departure from Championship club, Plymouth Argyle.
He played an integral part in Wycombe’s Bristol Street Motors Trophy campaign last season, having scored the winning goal against League Two side, Bradford City in the semi-final of last years’ tournament. But Butcher has found game time limited due to the form of other midfielders and with the signings of other midfielders, he has been omitted from the squad list for most game weeks.
Dan Rice shared his appreciation for Butcher on the clubs website by saying: “Matt has been first-class in his appreciation of the strong competition for places in midfield, and his support for his team-mates when he hasn’t been playing. He is a true professional in the way he conducts himself day in, day out.”
The midfielder has made 43 appearances in his year at the club, scoring four goals in that time
