Striker Scott McGleish has returned to Wycombe Wanderers after a three month loan-spell at Northampton Town.

During his loan-spell McGleish made 14 appearances for the Cobblers and scored twice.

McGleish was a prolific scorer for the Chairboys last season with 26 league goals. This season however, he only made 10 starts and 3 substitute appearances, during which he scored 3 goals, before his frustration at not commanding a regular place led to a falling out with manager Peter Taylor.

It appears that McGleish and Taylor have now resolved their differences and the Wycombe manager had this to say to the Bucks Free Press:

‘He scored 26 goals last year and you don’t lose that in six months. He’s gone to Northampton, he’s got himself match-fit and as long as he wants to come back then I’m sure he’ll do fine.’

‘We had a little bit of a fall-out but that is in the past.’

‘We’ve missed Scott in certain areas. We are too nice. I am the only one that ever gives out a rollicking. Scott is a real moaner on the pitch. If people aren’t getting the crosses in he lets them have it and we need some of that.’

McGleish is now available for selection for Saturday’s game at Dagenham & Redbridge.
