Wycombe Wanderers travel to Bristol Rovers on Saturday for their 29th league game of the season.

The play-off chasing Pirates are currently 9th in the table with 38 points from 25 games, while The relegation threatened Chairboys lie in 23rd place with 20 points from 28 games.

Rovers’ home record is…….. Won 8, Drawn 1, Lost 3.
Wycombe’s away record is… Won 1, Drawn 5, Lost 8.

On Saturday Rovers will be attempting to make it 6 home wins in a row, while Wycombe will be hoping to end a dismal run of 8 games without a win, during which they’ve collected only 3 points out of a possible 24.

New signing Alex Revell is expected to make his debut for the Chairboys, but top scorer Jon-Paul Pittman is likely to miss out with a groin strain.

In August, Wycombe beat Rovers 2-1 at Adams Park with goals from Matt Phillips and Jon-Paul Pittman cancelling out a Chris Lines’ opener to give Wanderers their first of only four victories so far this season.

Rovers are managed by their former midfielder Paul Trollope who has been with the club since June 2004.

Since 1996 Rovers’ home has been The Memorial Stadium which originally opened in 1921 and has a current capacity of 12,100.

The Man In The Middle

Saturday’s referee is Rob Shoebridge from Derbyshire who joined the National List of Referees in 2006. His last Wycombe game was a 1-0 defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge at Adams Park in January 2008.

Prediction

Despite not winning for what seems like an eternity, Wycombe have actually been playing quite well since they earned a draw at Elland Road and I’d be tempted to predict a shock 1-0 win on Saturday if it wasn’t for the fact they seem incapable of keeping a clean sheet.
