Wycombe Wanderers travel to Coventry City on Friday for their 23rd league game of the season.

The Chairboys claimed all three points with a narrow but fully-deserved 1-0 win over Chesterfield at Adams Park on Saturday.

A Luke O’Nien cracker was enough to give Wanderers a fifth straight home win in all competitions.

It was a victory that took Gareth Ainsworth’s side up to 4th in the table with 37 points, 2 points more than they had at the same stage last season.

Next up is a first ever league game against a Coventry side that lie 7th in the table and boast the tightest defence in the division.

The Sky Blues have conceded only 15 league goals (as opposed to Wycombe’s 29)

At the Ricoh Arena they’re even meaner, shipping just 5 league goals, and never more than one in a single game.

Wanderers travel there hoping to end a run of 5 away games without a win in the league.

Ainsworth made two changes to his starting line-up against the Spireites.

Nathan Tyson made his first start since October, and Sam Saunders was also handed a recall to the side with Matt Bloomfield and Nick Freeman both dropping to the bench.

Paris Cowan-Hall came on as a second-half substitute after recovering from an unspecified injury.

Dominic Gape was an unused substitute after recovering from a month out, but Marcus Bean missed out after picking up a knock.

Ainsworth has no newly reported injury concerns ahead of Friday’s game.

Bean will hope to return to the squad whilst Scott Kashket (pelvis) could make the bench having not played since July.

Loanee Josh Umerah is still sidelined following ankle surgery.

Michael Harriman continues his rehabilitation after breaking his leg almost three months ago.

Coventry City claimed all three points with a 2-1 win over Cheltenham Town at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

It was a positive response from the Sky Blues, who went into the game on the back of a dreadful performance in a 2-0 defeat away at Morecambe.

They have now won 10, drawn 5 and lost 7 of their 22 league matches, and lie 7th in the table with 35 points, 2 points less than the Chairboys.

Manager Mark Robins made three changes to his starting line-up against the Robins last time out.

Tom Bayliss was handed his full league debut and marked it with a goal.

Chris Stokes and Peter Vincenti were both handed recalls with Ryan Haynes, Ben Stevenson and Duckens Nazon dropping to the bench.

Stuart Beavon kept his place on the bench following a back problem with Jordan Ponticelli left out of the 18-man squad yet again.

Rod McDonald will be assessed ahead of Friday’s game after being forced off with a shoulder injury at the weekend.

Liam Kelly will miss the next six weeks with a foot injury.

Jodi Jones and Tony Andreu have been ruled-out for the rest of the season with anterior cruciate knee ligament injuries.
