Wycombe Wanderers travel to Mansfield Town on Saturday for their 13th league game of the season.

The Chairboys were beaten 1-0 by fellow strugglers Yeovil Town at Huish Park last weekend.

It was a woeful performance from Wanderers who should have gone into the game with confidence after recording back-to-back league victories at Adams Park.

There was no sign of the pressing game which made a welcome return against Crewe and Exeter, while a grand total of one shot on target did little to entertain the 319 Wycombe fans who made the trip to Somerset.

The Blues have now lost six, won four and drawn two of their twelve league matches and have slipped one place to 16th in the League Two table.

With five defeats, one draw and no wins on the road, Gareth Ainsworth’s side are currently lumbered with the worst away record in the division, an horrendous run that the Blues’ boss will be keen to halt on Saturday.

Ainsworth made six changes to his starting line-up last time out with full-back Joe Jacobson, defender Anthony Stewart, midfielder Dominic Gape, wingers Garry Thompson and Paris Cowan-Hall and striker Paul Hayes all handed recalls to the side.

They replaced defenders Sido Jombati and Will de Havilland, midfielders Nick Freeman and Stephen McGinn and striker Adebayo Akinfenwa who all dropped to the bench.

Striker Scott Kashket missed out through illness whilst midfielder Marcus Bean wasn’t risked having only just returned from a knee injury. Midfielders Matt Bloomfield and Stephen McGinn were both named on the bench.

Ainsworth has no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Stags and will check upon the fitness of Kashket (virus). Goalkeeper Scott Brown remains doubtful following two months out with a thigh injury.

Winger Myles Weston faces another week or two on the sidelines with a groin injury whilst no timescale has been mentioned on a return for midfielder Luke O’Nien (leg fracture).

Striker Dayle Southwell faces at least another month out following surgery on his groin whilst defender Max Müller (hamstring) isn’t expected to be back this side of Christmas.

Mansfield Town claimed all three points with a 3-1 win over local rivals Notts County at Field Mill last weekend.

The Stags snatched the points with two goals in injury-time courtesy of striker Matt Green’s penalty and a first for the club for experienced striker Darius Henderson.

They have now won four, drawn five and lost three of their twelve league matches this season and have climebd into 9th place in the League Two table.

Manager Adam Murray made five changes to his starting line-up last time out with midfielders Jamie McGuire and Mitchell Rose, winger Kevan Hurst and strikers Danny Rose and Pat Hoban all handed recalls to the side.

They replaced midfielders CJ Hamilton and Oscar Gobern, winger Ashley Hemmings, and strike rHenderso, who all dropped to the bench whilst teenage midfielder Tom Marriott was left out of the squad altogether.

Teenage midfielder Jack Thomas was named on the bench for the first time this season after recovering from tendonitis.

Murray has no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Chairboys and is boosted by the return of loan defender Alex Iacovitti and teenage striker Zayn Hakeem who are both available following international duty.

Loan defender Kyle Howkins is back in training after receiving treatment on a hamstring injury at parent club West Bromwich Albion and he has an outside chance of being involved this weekend.

Defender George Taft has started running again following a hamstring injury but won’t be fit for at least another week.
