Wycombe Wanderers take on Macclesfield Town at Adams Park on Tuesday evening in a rearranged League Two fixture.

The Silkmen visited Adams Park five weeks ago, only for a sudden blizzard to cause the game to be abandoned. At that time they were on a poor run and had only taken 4 points from their previous 6 matches.

Tomorrow evening they come to Wycombe in much better form, having won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 games in all competitions.

In their last 3 league games they have drawn 1-1 at Rochdale and beaten Barnet 3-1 at Underhill, before returning home to win 1-0 against Grimsby Town.

On Friday evening the Silkmen travelled to Port Vale in the FA Cup and booked themselves a 3rd round spot with a fine 3-1 win.

They are currently 15th in the table, having played 17 league games and collected 20 points (11 away from home).

They have scored 20 goals (10 away from home) and have conceded 31 (11 away from home).

Ten different players have scored for Macclesfield in all competitions this season. The top scorer is Simon Yeo with 6 league goals, but he has found himself on the bench in the last few games as manager Keith Alexander has preferred the pairing of Malcolm Gritton and Francis Green. Both Green and Gritton scored on Friday evening, Green netting twice, to take his season’s tally to 5 goals in all competitions.

Wycombe Wanderers are still unbeaten in the league and top the table with 37 points from 17 games played.

The Chairboys have only tasted defeat in cup competitions so far this season. The most recent of these was on Saturday when Eastwood Town deservedly ended Wycombe’s interest in the FA Cup.

When Wycombe lost 4-0 to Championship side Birmingham in the Carling Cup, they went on a run of 4 straight wins.

When they were hammered 7-0 in the JP Trophy by League Two rivals Shrewsbury, they went on a run of 3 straight draws.

How Wycombe react to being beaten 2-0 by a side three divisions below them remains to be seen.

The Chairboys have scored 22 league goals (13 at home) and have conceded 8 (6 at home).

10 different players have scored for Wycombe in all competitions. Top scorer is Matt Harrold with 7 goals while Chris Zebroski is only 1 behind with 6 goals to his name.

Ref Watch

The referee is G.D, Horwood. He has only taken charge of one Wycombe match before, the 2-2 draw at Chester last season. So far this season he has had 14 games, issuing 37 yellow cards and 1 red.

Team News

Angelo Balanta and Franck Moussa are available for selection again.

Simon Church is out with a broken hand.

Mike Williamson had a groin strain and then suffered a bout of illness. He must be very doubtful.

Chris Zebroski came off at half time on Saturday with a cut foot. No news yet about whether he can play tomorrow.

There is no news from the club regarding Gavin Grant.

Macclesfield are currently full of confidence, not having lost since the 1st of November. Their record also suggests that they’re stronger on the road than they are at home.

Wycombe’s confidence must have taken a knock after their defeat at Eastwood. How they react is important with a run of difficult games coming up.

I’m backing the team to send a message to their promotion rivals, put Saturday behind them and stretch their lead at the top of League Two to 7 points.

Prediction
Wycombe 2 Macclesfield 1
