Rendell becomes a Pirate

Wycombe Wanderers striker Scott Rendell has joined Bristol Rovers on a month’s loan.

The marksman has started just twice for the Blues in League One this season with his only goal of the campaign coming from the penalty spot at Colchester United. He has looked somewhat out-of-sorts recently and a loan move could be just what he needs.

He was Gary Waddock’s big-money signing in the summer of 2010. Wanderers paid a £125,000 transfer fee (although figures vary) to Peterborough United for his services.

He repaid that with 19 goals in all competitions as the Chairboys won promotion from League Two at the first time of asking. The achievement was even more impressive as he overcame personal tragedy to make an invaluable contribution.

Scott has teamed up with Paul Buckle who was manager at Torquay United when he had a loan spell down on the English Riviera. He joins a trio of former-Wanderers with Scott McGleish, Matt Harrold and Chris Zebroski already at the Memorial Stadium.

Scott could make his debut at Oxford United tomorrow and Vital wishes him the very best of luck. Go and get a hat-trick son!
