With the squad a day away from flying out to Germany, Paul Lambert has made the signing of 34 year old free agent Gary Holt who was released from Nottingham Forest

Lambert describes Wycombe’s jigsaw as ‘nearly complete’ as the diminuitive centre midfielder takes him one signing away from his target of 10.

With 10 international caps to his name, he adds experience along with Martin Bullock to a fairly young and developing midfield which could see him take up a similar role to what recently departed coach Keith Ryan did in his prime.

He has also come out with the predictable ex-player reference from Nathan Tyson and claims ‘the gaffer sold the club to me’ and this club is going places and I want to be a part of it’ but it seems Lambert does have something about him which makes a move to South Buckinghamshire seem attractive.
