Wanderers have announced the signing of Sonny Bradley on loan from Championship side, Derby County, on a loan for the rest of the season.
The centre-back, aged 33, played a role in Derby’s promotion to the second tier of English football last year, having made 41 appearances for the club in his first year there, Derby gaining automatic promotion after finishing second.
Bradley also won League One with Luton Town in the 2018-19 season, the season after they had been promoted from League Two, making 163 appearances, before leaving in May of 2023 following Luton’s conclusion of their play-off campaign.
The central defender began his career at Hull City, also playing for Portsmouth, Crawley and Plymouth.
He joins Wycombe following the departure of West Brom defender, Caleb Taylor, who had joined the Wanderers in the summer of 2024 and played well under Matt Bloomfield, gelling into the squad quite nicely, before he was recalled by his parent club last week, leaving a gap in the squad in which Alex Hartridge filled in their last game against Blackpool, before he was sent off after receiving two yellow cards.
Wanderers fans began to question who they would bring in as Taylor’s replacement, and the experienced Championship player could be the right fit for Bloomfield’s team as they push for promotion, sitting at second in League One, level on points with third place Wrexham, but have a game in hand.
Commenting on the arrival, Matt Bloomfield has said it was “Imperative for us to bring in a strong centre half to replace him [Caleb Taylor]” and he is “delighted” to welcome Sonny to the team.
Bradley could make his first appearance in the light-dark blue quarters in tomorrow nights’ match against Huddersfield Town.
