Following yesterday’s 2-2 draw at Doncaster Rovers, here are some views on the game from Donny’s manager Darren Ferguson and a selection of their fans.

“Two individual errors have cost us two points,” said Ferguson, referring to a brace of fumbles from keeper Ross Etheridge.

“It’s black and white, that’s what cost us, not tactics, not formations, but two individual errors.”

“Once you get control of the game like we did in the first half you should be more than one goal up at half time.”

“In the second half I thought we gave too many fouls away and Akinfenwa kept them in the game because he’s a real target and a really good player at this level.”

“The way the game went in the second half is happening too many times. We were thinking we probably needed another goal.”

“What we didn’t do well enough was keep the ball. We were running with it when we should be passing it, and then the first pass or the final pass was wrong.”

The Doncaster fans had an interesting variety of opinions.

The following extracts are taken from viking chat & twitter.

“Butter-fingers Etheridge is not good enough by a long way. In my opinion he has a severe case of stage-fright, from the day he signed with his bumbling interview to today`s latest b*llocks!”

Donny Osmond wrote;
“Not good enough today and he’s made mistakes in previous games too. I would loan him out, partly so he can develop, and also to keep him away from our fans yelling abuse at him (and sarcastically clapping when he saved anything even before the first goal).”

Copps is Magic wrote:
“Our fans help don’t they. He received vile abuse on his debut and they sang ‘get him off` today. Great way to boost his confidence. Coppinger missed two glaring chances today, and not a peep from anyone.”

“If we don’t improve defensively there is no way we will go up this season. Another shocking defensive display.”

“I thought we defended pretty well today. The problem for me today was the goalie. Two mistakes that should have been dealt with much better and two goals.”

PDX Rover wrote:
“Well, yes. Keepers are supposed to keep, not fluff. But arguably we should have been out of sight long before that.”

“The second goal was coming from them, can’t blame Etheridge!”

“Wycombe were playing ugly, ugly, football! Elbows and niggles everywhere – we should really have put them to the sword.”

Zigger Zagger wrote:
“What a joke that ref was. Just glad none of our players ended up in hospital. After 30 minutes when he hadn’t booked any of their players, it gave them the ok to do whatever they wanted and Tommy Rowe was the target.”

“Rowe going off had a massive impact on our ability to boss the game.”

beadle rover wrote:
“The game swung on 2 substitutions. Rowe going off reduced the mobility of our midfield, and Akinfenwa was like a bowling ball on the right side of our defence, reducing our ability to counter attack.”

“Akinfenwa made a difference. We should have won the game by half time but second half we couldn`t handle how well he played.”

“Mistakes like today will probably cost us promotion and we’ll probably have to spend another year in this shite league.”

“I wouldn’t judge League Two on the table. Teams like Colchester, Blackpool & Wycombe are better than most of those hovering around the play-offs.”

Matty Banks wrote:
“Plymouth may be 8 points clear and Carlisle still unbeaten, but with 10 players injured, we`re still 3rd and have scored more goals than Barcelona.”

“Ferguson has to go. Worst manager for many a year. I know we’re still 3rd but he looks like taking us on another winless streak.”
