Following yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham, here are some views on the game from the Cottagers’ manager Slavisa Jokanovic and a selection of their fans.

“The team was competitive and showed desire,” said Jocanovic, speaking to his club’s official website

“We played well, although we missed a little quality in our final passes in the first-half.”

“In the second-half we showed better ambition to win the game and scored a quality goal.”

“Denis Odoi then killed the game and we finished the match in a comfortable manner, something we didn’t do against Norwich on Saturday.”

“We found our killer instinct against Wycombe,” he said.

The Fulham fans were happy to see their youngsters claim victory.

“We had most of the possession as you would expect, however they were hard to break down. We played well and no one had a bad game or looked out of their depth.”

“It was a very slow paced match which we never really looked like losing. Wycombe were as expected, a poor side of little threat. That said we never really got out of second gear. Calm as we were in our quality we weren’t very clinical, although you felt it was only a matter of time until we did beat them.”

“Quite enjoyed the game, especially as so many youngsters were playing. Piazon’s goal was great, it was just what was needed. We were trying I thought for the perfect goal but he just belted it in.”

“Steady win for a mostly second string 11. Back to the important stuff at the weekend.”

“We`ve got some great kids. Steve Sessegnon was great, Edun played well, and I can’t believe O`Riley is only16.”

“Everyone looked capable but there has to be a caveat in the quality of the opposition. We made 11 changes, they made 7. Our reserves were better than theirs.

“Defence largely untroubled. Wycombe v v poor.”

“One of the most exciting things about the match was the appearance of a number of partridges. One wandered into the goal area in front of us… cue goal celebrations from the Fulham fans as he pottered over the line. Cheers of ‘we’ve got birdinho,’ ‘Pass to Bird’ and ‘Bird On’ as Rodak backpedalled not knowing the partridge was sat behind him.”

Next Game: Port Vale v Wycombe – Saturday 12th August – 3.00pm
