Following yesterday’s 0-0 draw at Mansfield Town, here are some thoughts on the game from the Stags’ manager Adam Murray and a selection of their fans.

‘If we don`t come up against world class goalkeepers every week then hopefully we’ll start getting some goals,’ said Murray, referring to the performance of Wycombe keeper Matt Ingram who made a series of incredible saves to steal a point for the Chairboys.

‘I’m over the moon with our overall performance and over the moon with individual performances,’ he added.

‘I saw a massive change in our game management, our organisation and the way we went about things.’

‘It was a big thing to get a clean sheet. I have banged on about it all week and it’s probably done their heads in.’

‘Near the end I was shouting to stay switched on but we had just one lapse. It was a bit squeaky bum time in that last minute.’

‘The fact we’ve gone toe to toe with top of the league and put them on the back foot for a lot of the game, people will have the same view as me, that we should have won the game.’

The Mansfield fans were less than impressed with Wycombe’s performance.

“Most one sided game you’ll ever see, if they’re top of the league it’s not going to take much to get the Stags playing with confidence. I would have taken a point before the game started today but now I’ve seen WW, I`m disappointed we didn’t take all three.”

“Wycombe were absolutely dreadful. Amongst the poorest sides I’ve seen at the Mill this season and we should have put them to bed in that first half. Indeed, the only thing missing from our game is goalscoring. It`s bitterly disappointing to not have got what we deserved and won the game against a right moaning bunch of mard arses.”

“How they`re top is a mystery, and how did their sub miss that chance to nick it with ten seconds left. Unbelievable. Would have been a real kick in the teeth.”

“WWFC have sold some of their best players this window. If that’s the best they’ve got left, I can see them falling away pretty quick.”

“Fair play to Wycombe, their defence was solid all game. Thought they were nothing special and we had chances to nick it but so did they as well. One day our luck will turn and the ball will end up in the back of the net.”

“Their keeper had a very good game but we need to be more clinical and take our chances.”

“Wycombe sub Mat McClure almost stole a win right in stoppage time which would have been unjust. Thankfully he put what was their only real opportunity in the game straight into the hands of keeper Adam Smith.”
