Following yesterday’s 1-0 win over Stevenage, here are some views on the game from Boro manager Dino Maamria and a selection of their fans.

“It was a very difficult game,” said Maamria, speaking to his club’s official website.

“Up until yesterday I didn’t even know who I would play, we’ve had so many injuries.”

“The back four had never played with each other before, the midfield had never played with each other before, and I knew it was going to be a difficult task.”

“I finished the game with three seventeen-year-olds and they all did well. I thought second-half we were much better, we kept possession better and we got forward a bit.”

“We had so many players out of position but I thought we kept them at bay and limited them to hardly any chances.”

Looking towards next season, the Boro boss said: “I just want players who want to stay at the football club and want to play for the badge and the fans.”

“They support us in great numbers our fans, they were fantastic today, I heard them throughout the game and didn’t hear much from the Wycombe fans, so I want to thank them for that.”

The Stevenage fans had little to say.

The following extracts are taken from Borochat and Twitter.

“Well, this season started off with a lot of promise, but certainly didn’t live up to it. Very few ups compounded with many downs. But I have every faith in Dino and the plan he has in store for us. On to next season.”

“We had one shot on target that I recall. Nothing game. Wycombe created zero atmosphere despite almost selling out. Our fans were buoyant first 20 and last 15. Enjoyable end of season atmosphere with the kids throwing inflatable dinosaurs around. If it wasn’t for Jack King telling them to, half the squad would have gone straight down the tunnel, Godden did, and didn’t come back out. Nice pub lunch in Lane End. Quick journey home.”

“’Nice pub lunch in Lane End.’ We all know you were in the White Horse.”

“Dear BBC 3CR. Joint team commentary is awful. I want total biased partisan views about my team. I don’t want to hear the opposition commentator ****ing off over his players. Thank God we won’t hear it next season.”

“Pitch invasion even before the full time was up, ref blows the final whistle having no other option, and useless commentator calls it ‘wonderful scenes’ instead of ‘disgraceful scenes’ which should merit a significant points deduction and no automatic promotion.”

“Thankfully this season is over. Now let’s see Dino have a clear out, although not of the youngsters. Let’s have some new faces that want to play for Stevenage.”

“It was the most lacklustre, boring season I can remember. Good riddance.”

“Good luck to @wwfcofficial next season, their stewards were great, a pleasure to be there today.”

“Those dinosaurs were quality,”
