Wycombe Wanderers’ manager Gary Waddock has signed a new three-year contract to remain at the club until 2014.

Waddock replaced Peter Taylor at Adams Park in October 2009 but was unable to prevent the Blues from being relegated at the end of his first season in charge.

Despite the setback, the former Aldershot boss had done enough to convince the fans that he was the right man for the job, and amid great scenes on the final day of last season, Waddock led the Blues back to League One at the first time of asking.

“I’m extremely pleased that I’ve committed my future to the club – I’m absolutely delighted,” said Waddock speaking to Chairboys Player.

“In the period of time since we’ve been here, we’ve brought in a lot of players and done a lot of work to move the club forward, and obviously with the promotion as well, we’ve got some momentum and the future looks extremely bright and encouraging.”

Wycombe play their first pre-season friendly of the summer at Staines Town tomorrow afternoon.
