It was announced last night that Wycombe have acquired the services of West Bromwich Albion defender, Caleb Taylor, signing him on a loan deal that runs until the rest of the 24/25 season.

Hearts were broken during the beginning of the month as it was announced that both Caleb Taylor and Aaron Morley had been recalled from their loan spells and would be returning to their parent clubs, with the West Brom loanee making himself a fan favorite in the few months he played in the light-dark blue quarters.

Wycombe had already been busy this transfer window, already signing two new faces who could play centre-back, Sonny Bradley joining on loan from Derby County and Anders Hagelsjkaer joining from Molde, Caleb now adds to the number of choices that caretaker manager, Sam Grace has.

The defender, aged 22 and standing at 6’5 inches tall, certainly aided the unbeaten run that Wycombe went on last year, and should be hoping to continue with the form that he had when he left.

Previously, he had made 20 appearances for the Chairboys in the first half of the season, picking up 15 wins in that time, with 7 clean sheets and even scoring a goal against Shrewsbury in a 4-1 win.

He was recalled following Wycombe’s 2-1 victory over Exeter on New Years’ Day, but will hopefully now feature against Cambridge this Saturday.

CFO Dan Rice commented on the return of Taylor, saying that he was an “Important part of the team throughout the first half of the season” and the club is “really pleased to bring him back and strengthen our options in defense.”
