Wycombe Wanderers have completed the signing of Anders Hagelsjkaer from Norwegian side, Molde FK.
The signing had been rumoured for a couple of weeks now, since the departure of Caleb Taylor and the potential departure of Joe Low, following bids from Championship clubs, Anders joins Wycombe to strengthen the depth of the centre-back position.
He brings Champions League experience to Wycombe, with Hagelsjkaer making four appearances in the competition last season, also winning the Norwegian Cup in 2023.
Hagelsjkaer joins a few players who have brought European experience to Adams Park, with West Ham loanee, Freddie Potts being in the side that won the European Conference League with the Premier League side winning the competition in 2023. Adebayo Akinfenwa played in the UEFA Cup qualifying rounds with Lithuanian side, FK Atlantas. Finally, Neil Lennon was part of the Celtic side that reached the UEFA Super Cup final in 2003.
Commenting on the completion of the deal, Matt Bloomfield said “We’re really excited to have Anders at the club and to have someone with recent experience of playing European football coming in to help us…”
CFO, Dan Rice said that they are “thrilled” to bring the player to the club.
The 27-year-old could feature in Wycombe’s third round FA Cup clash against Portsmouth tomorrow night.
