Wycombe have started their transfer deadline day off strong, as they announced the signing of former England youth international, Adam Reach.
Reach, who has played over 400 games at the Championship level brings years of experience with him into the club, starting his career Middlesbrough, scoring a 25-yard screamer against Burnley in August of 2012. He went out on loan four separate times during his time at Middlesbrough, before leaving to join Sheffield Wednesday in search of regular first-team football in the summer of 2016, for a fee which was reported to be around the 5-million pound mark.
Adam made his debut for Sheffield Wednesday against Wigan, which ended in a 2-1 victory. Quickly becoming a first-team regular, and playing a number of positions which included left wing and left wing-back. Reach was also awarded the clubs’ Player of the Year in the 2017-18 season.
On 20 May 2021, it was announced that he would leave Sheffield Wednesday following the expiration of his contract.
Going on to sign for West Brom, scoring his first goal in a 2-2 away draw at Bristol City, a 93rd minute equaliser.
CFO Dan Rice said “Adam is a player of vast experience which will be vital for us in achieving our objective this season.”
He also said that Wycombe will be finishing the window “In an extremely strong position”, adding fuel to speculation that our business might not be done just yet.
