Wycombe’s January transfer business has now wrapped up as they announced the signing of Xavier Simons from Championship club, Hull City, on a loan deal for the rest of the season.
The midfielder, aged 21, has represented England from the U15 to U20 levels, making 10 appearances and scoring one goal for the Three Lions.
Beginning his career at Brentford’s academy before moving to Chelsea, he made his debut in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup in a 2-0 victory against his former club.
Joining Hull City originally on a season-long loan, before making his deal permanent six months later, he scored his first goal for the Championship club in a 1-1 draw against Burnley in October 2024. He made a total of 34 appearances for Hull, also spending some time in League Two with Fleetwood Town.
Xavier is Wycombe’s 12th signing of the January transfer window, and adds to an already strong squad that is fighting for the automatic promotion places.
CFO Dan Rice commented on the deal, saying that “Xavier’s an extremely promising young talent who’s already played a lot of football this season at Championship level” and they’re “really pleased to bring him to Wycombe” and strengthen their options during the second half of an already strong season.
