Welcome to the final Opposition View of the season.

From next August we can enjoy the comments of supporters from clubs like Southampton, Charlton and Colchester United.

In the meantime, here are some opinions on yesterday’s game, followed by a little taste of things to come from fellow League One fans.

Following yesterday’s game against Notts County, here are some views from Magpies’ manager Ian McParland and a few of their fans.

Delighted with the 2-1 victory, McParland told his club’s official website: ‘It was fantastic to end on a winning note and we deserved it by playing some good football.’

‘There are inches between ourselves and Wycombe who are at the top end of the league. That’s what League Two is all about.’

‘I’m so happy for the players to get a victory against a good side in Wycombe who have been promoted.’

The Magpies boss was surprised at the identity of his team’s match winner, with John Thompson’s double strike marking his first goals for the club:

‘I can’t believe John Thompson scored two goals,’ said McParland, adding: ‘He’s never scored two goals in his life and I can’t believe he got one with his left foot.’

Looking to the future, the County boss finished by saying: ‘ If we can turn chances into goals and victories next season, it would be nice to have a promotion party of our own like Wycombe have had today.’

The County fans were pleased to finish a disappointing season on a high note.

The following extracts are taken from BBC606, The Football Forum, Football Forums and ‘Notts County Mad.’

‘I thought that Wycombe contributed to their own demise by defending too deep when they thought they were safe at 1 – 1. Great strike by John Thompson to quieten the blue section of the crowd, but at least they got the end result that they wanted at Bury’s expense.’

‘There was a hint of offside today for their goal, and I think that one goal may have cost Bury a place in League One. Just shows how close it can be!!’

‘The players who don’t normally play tried all game and worked their socks off. Credit to them all yesterday, Notts really wanted to win and went out to attack Wycombe from the first kick of the ball.’

jacobncfc wrote:
‘Was Thompson’s second goal our best of the season? Not just for the finish, which was sublime, but the 20 passes in the build up to the goal, helped by Wycombe deciding to drop off completely.’

‘Had this been even just a few weeks ago, Wycombe would’ve wiped the floor with us. I think nerves came into it massively today.’

I Despise Crawley Town wrote:
‘First time in a long while that the Notts lads have put in a decent amount of effort and it paid off. They passed the ball around well and I feel a 2-1 victory was well deserved. Bury should have taken advantage of this. It doesn’t happen every week!’

Lord Jacob wrote:
‘We deserved to win. We wanted it more and passed the ball very well at times. The second goal was brilliant. Wycombe need to strengthen a lot, they were hopeless today.’

As a bonus, here are a few welcome messages from fellow League One fans.
