Wycombe extended their unbeaten run to 13 in all competitions as they beat National League  side Wealdstone to move into the third round of the FA Cup.

Matt Bloomfield named a completely changed eleven from their midweek game against Mansfield, showing the amount of depth Wanderers have to use now, a very strong side walking out into the Grosvenor Vale just before 11:30am.

The National League Side did well to contain the current League One leaders’, sitting back and successfully defending whatever Wycombe did in their attempts to break the deadlock, the best of their chances coming from a Bakinson shot which flew over the bar, until half an hour into the game when a brilliant Lubala free kick found the top corner.

The attendance was announced during half-time as 3534, a record for Wealdstone.

The second half began with a few Wealdstone chances, which were saved by Shamal George, before Wycombe went on a counter-attack and winning a corner, Tafazolli nodding the cross in towards the goal but it was marginally cleared, very nearly two for the visiting side.

Wycombe made a couple of changes after this, with Lubala and Wheeler making way for McCleary and Onyedinma coming onto the pitch with 65 minutes played.

Wealdstone were giving the game their everything, with a few chances between, but they were saved by George, Wycombe holding onto their 1-0 lead.

Another two changes were made by Wycombe, Richard Kone and Luke Leahy coming on for Hanlan and Bakinson. Kone continued his goal-scoring form, making a great run through the defensive line and finding the back of the net from inside the box, making sure Wycombe keep their lead.

Morley came on for Udoh for the final few minutes, closing out the game, the final whistle blown shortly after.

Wanderers will be ball number 58 in the draw which takes place on Monday from 7pm, which now means their league match against Rotherham away will be postponed.
