Wycombe Wanderers have been handed a home tie against Championship side, Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup.
The tie is set to take place on the second weekend of January, with a time and a date set to be announced within the coming weeks.
Last time the two sides met, it was at Adams Park, in March, in which the eventual League One Champions won 3-1, goals coming from Colby Bishop and Christian Saydee, with Matt Butcher scoring shortly after Portsmouth’s opener.
They went on to win League One during the 23/24 season.
This will be only the third meeting between the two younger managers, with Bloomfield being the oldest of the two at 40, and Mousinho being only 38, both also playing for Wycombe during their careers.
For Wycombe, it will be a good chance to test themselves against Championship opposition, albeit a weak one, given Portsmouth have only won two of their 16 games played during their time in the second tier of English football this season, coming against Preston and QPR. However, Portsmouth fans can’t be happy with their start to the current Championship season, having lost 6-1 to Stoke City in October.
Meanwhile, Wycombe Wanderers are making club history with their form so far, having won 11 straight games in all competitions.
Freddie Potts will be making his return to Adams Park in January too, the young midfielder coming back after his loan spell last season, in which he received player of the season award.
