Wycombe look to return to winning ways after their draw against Blackpool last Saturday, facing off against West-Yorkshire based team, Huddersfield Town.

Wanderers currently sit at second in the League One table, having dropped points against Blackpool and losing against Charlton. Meanwhille, Huddersfield are fourth, drawing their last two games against Rotherham and Burton.

Last time the two teams faced each other was during the 20/21 Championship season, in which Wycombe drew against Huddersfield, the game remaining goalless. When Wycombe visited Huddersfield that same season, they won 3-2, coming back from 2-0 down, goals coming from Anis Mehmeti, Joe Jacobson and Josh Knight.
Jack Grimmer, Ryan Tafazolli, David Wheeler, Garath McCleary and Fred Onyedinma remain from that Championship team.

Huddersfield’s recent form has raised many questions for the Yorkshire-based team, having been relegated from the Championship last season, many fans expected them to go straight back up. However, they’re currently seven points behind both Wrexham and Wycombe, who are third and second respectively.

Nigel Lonwijk, who spent last season on loan at Wycombe, is currently playing at Huddersfield, still on loan from Premier League side, Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, he is unlikely to feature against the team in which he spent last season, after suffering from a hamstring injury, only playing four minutes against Rotherham in their last game.

Additionally, new signing, Ruben Roosken won’t feature against Wycombe after being sent off in their last match.

Callum Marshall, who is on loan from West Ham United, is the man to watch, having played 22 games and scored six goals.

For the home team, the centre-back position has raised a lot of questions, especially after Alex Hartridge saw red in Wycombe’s last game against Blackpool. Either Declan Skura or Ryan Tafazolli (if he’s fully fit) will most likely take his spot in the team. The latter of the two now being back in training after picking up an injury.

Speaking after the Blackpool match, Matt Bloomfield has said Jasper Pattenden will be out for a while after suffering a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Bez Lubala could feature after missing the match against Blackpool through illness.

It is set to be an interesting match under the lights at Adams Park, with both teams fighting for promotion.
