Adams Appointed Trust President

KAREN ADAMS FOR PRESIDENT: TRUST MAKES FIRST SIGNING

Karen Adams, granddaughter of Wanderers benefactor Frank Adams, will be Honorary President of the new Wycombe Wanderers Trust.

Karen`s grandfather was player, captain and administrator with the Chairboys before giving Loakes Park to Wanderers in 1947. He held key administrative positions in the Club and the FA. After Frank`s death in 1981 his son, Karen`s father Jack, played a key role in the negotiations to build the new ground in Sands, fittingly to be called Adams Park.

Speaking about her decision to take on the Trust Presidency, Karen said:

“I am very happy to take this role on because of my family`s long and proud association with Wycombe Wanderers, in playing and administration and in gifting Loakes Park to the Club. I want to do the best for the Trust as it seeks to preserve and build on the Club`s proud history.”

David McGee, Chair of the Trust said:

“A key aim of the Trust is to preserve the heritage of the football club and this appointment signals how seriously we take that responsibility. There is no family more closely connected with Wanderers` great history than Karen`s. When her grandfather gave Loakes Park to the Football Club in 1947 he placed it in an enviable position from which it could forge a name for itself in non-league, and now league, football. She was keen to be involved and we are absolutely delighted that she has taken up the invitation to be our President.”

The Trust will make more exciting announcements, about the appointment of Vice-Presidents, in the coming days.
