Wycombe Wanderers have extended striker John Akinde’s loan period until the end of the season.

The Bristol City frontman has been a big hit for the Chairboys, scoring twice on his debut against Brentford and finding the net on two further occasions since then.

Akinde was due to return to his parent club after this Saturday’s game against Gillingham, but will now remain at Adams Park until May 2nd or after the League Two play-offs if required.

Manager Peter Taylor told his club’s official website: ‘John’s scored four goals in five games. I’m delighted to say that after requesting to extend the deal, Gary Johnson has agreed.’
