Wycombe’s longest serving player Matt Bloomfield is off to the UK’s first ever residential sports injury rehabilitation centre at Lilleshall next week.

Popular midfielder Bloomfield has been out of action since suffering a cruciate knee injury against Darlington in March of this year.

Having worked hard in the gym all summer, Matt is to spend a week at the centre in Shropshire, where he will receive some specialist treatment.

He told Wycombe’s official site: ‘I’m really pleased with how it’s going, it’s coming along well.’ He went on to say of his Lilleshall trip: ‘ I think a change of environment will do me good. I’m expecting a tough week but a good one. I will undergo some one-to-one work and they have a specialist machine which can track how much strength is currently in each leg.’

All in all, Bloomfield’s hard work means that he is on course for a return to first team football by late November.

All Chairboys fans will wish him well for his continued recovery and look forward to seeing him back in contention for a midfield place.
