Bradford City have announced the postponement of tomorrow’s game against Wycombe Wanderers due to a frozen pitch.

The Valley Parade surface was inspected at 11am on Friday morning by referee Eddie Ilderton who deemed it unplayable.

The pitch is currently covered by a blanket of snow, with more forecast to fall later on Friday afternoon and evening.

In addition, temperatures in South Yorkshire plummeted below freezing last night and the Bantams claim the decision was made early to prevent both the Blues’ squad and fans making a wasted journey.

Whether there was much willingness from the hosts to ensure the game went ahead after their celebrations following a thoroughly deserved aggregate victory over Aston Villa to reach the final of the League Cup is something of a moot point however.

A date for the rearranged game will be announced in due course.

Wycombe Wanderers next match is now their trip the Priestfield Stadium on Monday 4th February 2013 when they face Gillingham in a 7.45pm kick-off. The game will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The next game at Adams Park is the League Two clash with York City on Saturday 9th February 2013, kick off 3pm.
