After again bouncing back from defeat at Peterborough with a 3-0 home victory over Grimsby last weekend, Wycombe will be looking for back to back wins away at this season’s surprise outfit Chester City.

The game comes on the back of a busy week for the Wanderers who brought in Rab Douglas and Tommy Doherty on loan but also lent Jack Obersteller to Grays Athletic and the big talking point of Jermaine Easter moving onto pastures new at Plymouth.

Chester come into the game off the back of an impressive 2-1 away victory at Stockport County with summer signing Richie Partridge bagging a brace.

Vital Quotes:

Chester boss Bobby Williamson:

‘I’m sure it will be a tough match, Wycombe will come up here with high hopes of going away with the points but we’ll have something to say about that.

Our home form could be better but we have to make sure that any chances that do come our way are taken and we try and get an early goal to settle us down and open the game up a bit’.

Chairboys boss Paul Lambert:

‘Every game is a challenge and this is no different, I don’t know a lot about Wycombe but I’m sure they don’t know a lot about us either but as I’ve said we’re the home team and we have to impose ourselves from the first whistle and if we get chances early in the game we have to ensure we take advantage of that’.

Chester Team News:

Nathan Lowndes is set to feature alongside well travelled front man Simon Yeo but James Vaughan, Glenn Cronin and Gavin Ward continue to miss out.

Player to watch: Richie Partridge

On the fringes of the Liverpool first team just 4 years ago, it may be quite a fall from grace but buoyed with 2 goals last weekend, the pacy winger will be looking to give the Wanderers defence a stern test.

Wycombe Team News:

The Chairboys look set to name the same team as last weekend with new boys Tommy Doherty and Rab Douglas unable to play any part.

Player to watch: Scott McGleish

6 goals in 7 and definitely a striker in form. Could be the match winner again on Saturday.
