Wycombe Wanderers have today signed midfielder Ian Westlake on a two-year contract.
26 year-old Westlake had been on trial with the Chairboys and featured in both their pre-season matches so far, against AFC Wimbledon and Bideford.
Westlake was a free agent after his contract with Cheltenham Town expired at the end of last season.
Westlake’s League Appearance Record
Ipswich – 113 Appearances, 16 Goals
Leeds United – 47 Appearances, 1 Goal
Brighton (loan) – 11 Appearances, 2 Goals
Cheltenham – 22 Appearances, 2 Goals
Oldham (loan) – 5 Appearances, 0 Goals
Wycombe manager Peter Taylor told his club’s official website: ‘I’m delighted to sign Ian. I worked with him at England U21 level and he’s got both good experience and energy in midfield. He’s played for Ipswich and Leeds in the past and that shows what a good player he is.’
Westlake’s signing is the Chairboys’ sixth of the summer, following the capture of defenders Michael Duberry, Chris Westwood and Joe Cobb, along with midfielders Lewis Montrose and Stuart Green.
