Wycombe Wanderers travel to Bradford City on Saturday for their first League Two fixture of the month following a frustrating run of postponements due to the weather.

Bradford City are currently 5th in the table with 48 points from 29 games, 28 of those points having been won at home. They are 5 points behind Wycombe and have played a game more.

Since the turn of the year, Bradford have picked up 9 points from their 6 league games. Three successive draws against Shrewsbury (0-0), Accrington (1-1) and Luton (3-3), were followed by a 2-0 defeat at Bury, before the Bantams got back to winning ways with a 2-0 home win over Grimsby and an impressive 2-0 win at Gillingham last Saturday.

They have scored 48 league goals (27 at home) and have conceded 32 (15 at home).

12 different players have scored for Bradford this season in all competitions and their top marksmen are Michael Boulding and Peter Thorne with 11 goals each, although Barry Conlon isn’t far behind with 10 strikes to his name. Another player to worry about is the tricky Omar Daley who is likely to be up against Wycombe’s on-loan right-back Chris Casement on Saturday.

Wycombe Wanderers are currently 2nd in the league but only trail leaders Brentford on goal difference and have two games in hand on their West London promotion rivals. The Chairboys have 53 points from 28 games played, 24 of those points having been won on their travels away from Adams Park

January was a month of mixed emotions for the Chairboys. It began with a fine 2-1 home win over fellow high fliers Bury but went downhill rapidly when they lost two games in succession. Having only tasted defeat once in their first 24 games, it came as a shock to the system for Wycombe fans when they saw their side lose 1-0 at home to lowly Grimsby and then suffer a 3-1 defeat at relegation strugglers Bournemouth. However, slowly but surely the ship is being steadied and a solid 0-0 draw at Macclesfield was followed at the end of the month with a narrow 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley.

The game on Saturday will be Wycombe’s first outing in February following the postponement of their Games against Barnet and Darlington. The last time the Chairboys had a two-week break, it didn’t do them any good and they resumed play with two successive defeats. Hopefully, being pushed into second place having spent four months at the top, will concentrate their minds and ensure they are quick off the mark following this recent period of inactivity.

Wycombe have scored 36 league goals (14 away from home) and have conceded 19 (9 away from home).

12 different players have scored for Wycombe in all competitions and the top marksman is Matt Harrold with 12 goals. Next highest scorer is Chris Zebroski who has found the net 6 times. New striker Jon-Paul Pittman could make his debut following his arrival from Crawley Town earlier this month.

Ref Watch

The Referee for this match is Carl Boyeson.

Wycombe Team News

Lewis Hunt will be out for a few more weeks with a broken bone in his foot.

Jon-Paul Pittman could make his debut after joining from Crawley Town.

Bradford Team News

Graeme Lee
is suspended for this game.

Bradford are going for three wins in a row on Saturday and believe that victory over Wycombe will propel them right back into the title race. The Chairboys have watched a nine point lead disappear, partly because of some poor results and partly because of postponements. A victory for either side would be a significant blow to their opponents as we enter the last few months of the season.

Prediction

A battling draw for Wycombe.

Bradford 1 Wycombe 1
