On deadline day, Wycombe have utilised the loan market for the first time this season and secured Plymouth youngester Reuben Reid for the rest of the season.

The 19 year old has League 2 experience with Rochdale and Torquay, scoring 2 goals for the latter. He stands at 6′ tall and the forward is known to have bags of strength and pace. At just 17, he made his debut for the Plymouth first team in the Championship and starred in their 2-1 win against the Chairboys earlier this season and this performance obviously hasn’t gone unnoticed as Lambert has told the official website that both the playing and coaching staff were impressed by him:

‘Reuben really impressed us that night and all the boys were talking about him after the game. He played on the right of midfield against us, but his real position is up front. I know that Plymouth see him as a big prospect for the future and we’re delighted to get him.’

He will not feature at Saltergate this Saturday due to being laid low with a virus for the last week but with such a bright future expected for him, Wycombe fans will be hoping that he wont be far from the first team for next Sunday’s live Sky Sports clash against Brentford at Adams Park.
