In the wake of yesterday’s disappointing 3-1 defeat at home to Oxford United, here are some views on the game from the Us’ manager Chris Wilder and a few of their fans.
“The two centre-halves from Wycombe might be a little bit tired because I thought our front two were excellent,” said the Oxford boss.
“Generally, it was an all-round, good performance but I’m a bit disappointed with their goal. We gave it away in a poor position and we need to be a bit more professional, especially when we’ve just gone 2-0 up and the game should be dead and buried.”
“We’ve given them a lifeline, and to be fair, they’ve shown a lot of spirit, which I always thought they would do with their manager.”
“But the third goal was a really important one for us,” said Wilder.
The Oxford fans didn’t have a kind word to say about Wycombe and took great delight in ending a sequence of six straight league defeats on the road.
