Following Wycombe’s signing of Stuart Beavon from Weymouth, the Blue Square side’s supporters have been paying tribute to their former player.

Without exception the Terras’ fans were sorry to see him go and felt that the Chairboys have made an excellent signing.

Here are a few of their comments:

‘He has been a pleasure to watch, ever since knocking in his first goal for the club in the dying moments.’

‘A great servant to the club and a well deserved move.’

‘A little surprised he’s only going as far as League Two, but Peter Taylor is a great boss to have and Wycombe are looking to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. So good luck Beaver, without a doubt one of the best (if not THE best) Muff players I’ve had the pleasure to watch.’

Penwood wrote:
‘I think this a good move for Beavon, somewhat predictable, even if we hadn’t have been in the current mess. A good chance of Lg1 next season and a good experienced manager/coach.’

‘Good luck and thanks for all your 100% effort and performances. Hope you move up the divisions.’

‘In my 30 years of following the Terras I would say that Beaver is the best player that I have seen pull on a Weymouth shirt. Never have I been so sad to see a player leave the club. Good luck Stuart, you have always given 100% when you have worn the shirt and I really hope this is a stepping stone to even bigger things. I will watch your career with great interest. I’m sure that Wycombe will have gained a few ‘fans’ as a consequence of this move.’

‘Superb player who deserves to go on further and have a long career as a League player. I don’t think it’ll be too long until he goes up the ladder even higher.’

Tim wrote:
‘A superb footballer and a really polite, pleasant guy.’

AJ wrote:
‘He’s a top player and has been a firm fans’ favourite over the last couple of seasons. He will always be guaranteed to work hard for the whole team, not a selfish player at all.’

Wycombe fans will get their first chance to see Beavon in action when Rotherham visit Adams Park on Monday evening.
