Wycombe were brushed aside at Adams Park on Wednesday as they bowed out of the Carling Cup in the 1st round, losing to Birmingham 4-0.

The Championship were ahead early when Mehdi Nafti (14) scored his first goal for Birmingham, three and a half years after signing, from 20-yards. The home side could’ve levelled through Scott McGleish but he was denied by Birmingham ‘keeper Colin Doyle and a that was about as good as it got for Wycombe.

Sebastien Larsson (64) and Cameron Jerome (73) ensured that there would be no upset, with on-loan striker Quincy Owusu-Abeyie (86) scoring the goal of the match towards the end to wrap things up.
