As the transfer deadline approaches, Wycombe manager Peter Taylor has made a bid for an unnamed League-one striker according to local newspaper the Bucks Free Press.

He is quoted as saying ‘If they accept our value that’s great, if not there are a couple of other people we can look at.’

Wanderers’ official site later quoted Taylor as saying ‘We’ve put in an offer for a player which hasn’t been accepted yet, but if nothing materialises with that one, we may be thinking of bringing someone else in before the transfer deadline.’

Although Taylor brought in Reading’s Simon Church on a one-month loan earlier this week, the Chairboys are keen to boost their strike department following the departures of Leon Knight and John Sutton last week.
