Wycombe: The Opposition View

Following yesterday’s 0-0 draw against Luton Town, here are some comments from the Hatters’ boss Mick Harford and a few of their fans.


Harford told BBC Three Counties Radio that Luton had put in ‘a good team performance.’

He went on to say that his side had ‘imposed themselves on the game’ particularly in the first 25 minutes of the second half.

The Luton boss felt that the poor weather conditions had contributed to what he described as ‘an exciting game’ and ‘a good game of football.’

Although admitting to some disappointment at not taking all three points, Harford said he was ‘happy with a clean sheet and a point’ from an away game at the league leaders.

He went on to say that in a game of few chances, both defences were solid. He was pleased with the way his own defenders had dealt with Wycombe striker Matt Harrold, who Harford described as ‘an awkward customer.’



The Hatters’ fans had plenty to say. Basically, they didn’t like our team or our support or our ground or our car parking or indeed anything about us with the possible exception of The White Horse pub. They were however very fond of themselves and 99% of their post-match comments ignored the football and instead concentrated on how they had out-sung the home support. Here are a few of their more moderate opinions.

Our support was once again superb and considering Wycombe are top of the league they should be ashamed, poor support from them.’
