Wycombe: The Opposition View

Following Wycombe Wanderers’ defeat at Bradford City yesterday afternoon, here are some views from Bantams’ manager Stuart McCall and a few of their fans.


McCall thought it was a ‘Terrific game of football’ and a ‘Massive three points’ for his side.

Speaking to the BBC, McCall went on to say:

‘They’ve got good players, that’s why they’re near the top of the league, but they’ve missed a couple of good chances today.’

‘I really enjoyed it, I thought it was a really good quality game of football. Throughout the side we were good today.’

‘We were disappointed to lose down there and they’re probably disappointed to have lost today.’

On Chris Zebroski’s sending off, McCall had this to say: ‘It wasn’t a malicious tackle, it was a poor, poor attempt to get the ball.’




The Bradford fans knew it was a big win for their side and had very mixed views on Wycombe’s performance.

‘Red card was one of the most disgraceful challenges I’ve seen at VP in years. High boot with studs showing straight towards Clarke’s face. Looked intentional, otherwise why would studs be showing? Great game though, very end to end. Before red card thought it perhaps should have ended in a draw, but we defended the lead very well, and combined with their dire shooting I think we warranted it.’

The number ten missed sitters, Pittman had that overhead kick, Furman cleared a header off the line and they had a couple of others that I can’t recall right now. We rode our luck a little at times but Zebroski deserved to go, glad Clarke got up okay, and three massive points there.’
