Wycombe: The Opposition View

Following yesterday’s goalless draw between Wycombe Wanderers and Rotherham, here are some views from the Millers’ Assistant Manager John Breckin and a few of their fans.



Breckin was refreshingly honest and admitted his side came to Adams Park looking for a draw.

‘We went to Wycombe with a draw in mind and it was a great point away to one of the top teams in the league.’ Breckin told reporters.

‘We’ve got to survive. We’ve had 17 points deducted and games are piling up, so why should we alter our approach. It puts a bit of pressure on when the Sky TV cameras are watching, but why change?’




The Rotherham fans didn’t think much of either side’s performance.

They gave us too much respect. I still think they will get promoted. They’re one of the better sides we’ve played.’

‘It was backs to the wall stuff mostly, but if we’d been a little more adventurous in certain situations, especially in the second half, we could quite easily have won it. Was it a penalty? definitely, but it wasn’t given & we’ll take that. All in all a great point against one of the better League Two sides!!’

‘The basic ineptitude of our tactics and approach to the game were on a truly staggering level. Wycombe were there for the taking and if they do go up they’ll come back down in double quick time. They were utterly dire and most teams in this **** poor league would have taken them no problem.’
