Wycombe Wanderers have been drawn at home to Peterborough United in the 1st round of the Carling Cup.

Both clubs gained automatic promotion last season with Wycombe moving up to League One and Peterborough earning a place in the Championship with their second successive promotion under manager Darren Ferguson.

Today’s draw raises the possibility of former Chairboys Russell Martin and Sergio Torres returning to Adams Park.

Both players joined Peterborough last summer with defender Martin soon taking over as captain of the Posh.

Torres on the other hand, only managed 15 starts for his new club and is currently on the transfer list.

The last time the two clubs met was April 2008, when a last minute penalty from Scott McGleish earned Wycombe a 2-2 draw in a League Two fixture at Adams Park.

Posh fans have been commenting on the draw on BBC606:

‘Good draw for us. It will be a good test and I suspect we’ll have to be at our best to win. Certainly should not take round 2 for granted.’
