Wycombe Transfer Gossip

Before I list these, just to say don’t take these as face value, a lot of them could be made up by people for all I know but it’s always interesting giving them a read.

Firstly, there are rumours about that released Nottingham Forest striker Jack Lester is on his way to Wycombe, can’t see this happening really with the striking options we have at the club but maybe we are preparing for Easter’s exit.

Likeliness Rating – 4/10

Secondly, the obvious one that Tommy Doherty will be back. It seems that we are doing the best we can to get him and is the QPR friendly part of the agreement? However, if a League 1 club comes in for him which is more than likely then will he choose us over them? Fairly unlikely I think but this one is going to drag on.

Likeliness Rating – 8/10

Next is the possibility of Brentford defender Matt Heywood. This one seems to have a bit of substance with Mooney citing an ‘ex Swindon defender’ as a target in his FA column and this is widely believed to be him. With new manager Terry Butcher in charge and with an extremely slim squad at the moment this one seems unlikely to me but the centre back position is certainly one that we need to invest in, it’s a maybe from me.

Likeliness Rating – 6/10

Next is the Dundee United defender David McCracken (Yeah, i giggled at the name too!). This was on a wesbsite the other day, this one may be likely with Lambert’s Scottish connection and players being willing to work under him but surely an SPL defender is bound for better things than a League 2 club?

Likeliness Rating – 7/10

What about Peterborough striker Danny Crow? This one has been doing the rounds a little bit but it’s the same as the Jack Lester rumour, do we need strikers? and I’m not sure if Lambert is going to spend big bucks on a striker that may not even make it in the starting line-up.

Likeliness Rating – 3/10

Finally, the Hereford centre back Tamika Mkandawire. It’s no secret he’s unsettled at the Bulls but with a host of League 2, League 1 and even Championship clubs watching over him, it’s unlikely he’ll be a Wanderer next year.

Likeliness Rating – 3/10

So, that’s what I’ve dug up, I don’t reckon these are going to be true to be honest with the exception of Doherty so we’ll just see who the remaining ‘Magnificent 7’ are that Lambert wants to bring in this summer.
