Wycombe haven’t turned to the lord for divine inspiration as the title may suggest, but they have gone in for Church, Simon Church of Reading that is.

Church will join Wycombe on a one-month loan deal, much to manager Peter Taylor’s delight, who also thanked the board for making it happen: ‘He’s a very hard-working player – I’m delighted that Reading have allowed him to come here and I appreciate the board letting me bring him in,’ Taylor told the official website.

After seeing John Sutton, sold to Motherwell, and Leon Knight, released, leave recently Taylor was in need of extra fire power and bringing in the Wales Under-21 international, who has previously been on loan with Crewe Alexandra and Yeovil, is a good move.

Are you happy to see Simon Church join Wycombe on loan?
