Wycombe Wanderers entertain Cheltenham Town on Tuesday in the second-round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Wycombe are 22nd in League One with 8 points from 11 games.

Cheltenham are 11th in League Two with 17 points from 11 games.

Wycombe’s Home Record (All Comps)……..Won 3 – Drawn 1 – Lost 4

Cheltenham’s Away Record (All Comps)…..Won 2 – Drawn 1 – Lost 3

Wycombe did the double over the Robins last season with Stuart Beavon and Gareth Ainsworth scoring in a 2-1 win at Whaddon Road and Ben Strevens and Gaz again doing the business in a 2-1 victory at Adams Park.

The Blues went on to clinch promotion but are seriously struggling to compete in League One and on Saturday lost for the seventh time in their last eight league games.

While our heroes were committing defensive suicide at Rochdale, the Robins were romping to a 3-1 victory at Bristol Rovers to position themselves just one point below the play-offs and four points below the automatic promotion places.

Captained by former Chairboy Alan Bennett, Cheltenham reached this stage of the JPT by beating Torquay United 2-1 at Whaddon Road in the first round.

Wycombe arrived at this point thanks to Stuart Beavon”s hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers at Adams Park.

Just to give you a reminder of where we are, there are currently 32 teams left in the competition, 16 north and 16 south. Victory over the Robins would take Wycombe into the Southern Area Quarter Finals only three rounds away from a trip to Wembley.

Competition rules mean both managers must include in their starting eleven at least six players who started the previous game – or at least six players out of the 11 who have made the most starting appearances in league and cup matches this season.
