Wycombe drew 2-2 with Maidenhead at York Road last night as Paul Lambert begins to try and shape his final formation in preparation for next Saturday’s opener against Accrington Stanley.

Maidenhead twice came from behind in the match, Jermaine Easter opened the scoring for Wycombe after new right winger Martin Bullock was felled in the area. This looked like the walk in the park friendly we had been looking for against the Conference South outfit but Dwayne Lee thought otherwise and banged home a wonderful 30 yard free kick.

The impressive Bullock was involved in Wycombe’s second goal as his clever footwork and good positioning outsmarted Maidenhead’s right back before putting in a great cross for Scott McGleish to tap home. Maidenhead again refused to lie down and after a needless shirt pull by David McCracken it was ex-Barnet man Lee who again stepped forward from a dead ball situation and levelled the game up.

The second half never really got going with the ongoing and regular substitutions taking place but it was Lewis Christon who nearly popped up as a matchwinner with a shot from the edge of the area that fizzed just over.

The standout performances throughout was a seemingly flourishing partnership between McGleish and Easter and despite only a half hour cameo, Andre Boucaud showed that he again deserves a contract at Adams Park with some impressive passing and individual skill again, not dissimilar to the performance he put in against QPR at the weekend.
