When new manager Peter Taylor took over at Adams Park in the summer, he quickly pointed at last season’s poor goal scoring record as a key area to be improved upon.
Taylor told the club’s official site that he believed teams should strive to score an average of two goals per game in order to achieve promotion.
New strikers and wide midfielders were brought in during the Summer in order to help increase the Blues’ goal tally.
Whilst the Blues’ defensive record so far this season is second to none, they have only managed to score 6 goals in 6 League games.
In contrast, this Saturday’s visitors Dagenham & Redbridge have scored 16 goals in their 6 League games so far.
A quick look at the Football League web site reveals that Wycombe are the rock bottom side in the League-Two stats table for shooting. Dagenham on the other hand are in third place.
The difference is considerable. Dagenham have averaged almost five more shots on target than Wycombe in each of the League games played.

Perhaps the Chairboys should risk taking a few more pot-shots at the opposition goal if they want to beat last season’s meagre return of 56 goals in 46 League games.
